WIRELESS SECURITY
Radio IP MTG™ is your Mobile VPN

Most VPN solutions were created for the wired world. Radio IP MTG™ provides a Mobile VPN with data encryption and data encapsulation and much more.

Key to a Mobile VPN is tunneling, which encapsulates data within a public network transmission. Data encapsulation, however, is not meant to replace data encryption. Where high-level security is essential, as in Public Safety, a Mobile VPN must include data encryption within the tunnel.

Using our patented Optimized TCP/IP encapsulated tunnel, you'll also get Two-Factor Authentication, static IP addressing and FIPS 140-2, AES, 3 DES, 256 bit data encryption.

Radio IP MTG Mobile VPN Step-By-Step

With Radio IP MTG your wireless workers have an automatic Mobile VPN connection to your network. Here's what happens to data when it is sent wirelessly from the field over the Radio IP MTG Mobile VPN.

  1. Authentication
Before any data is sent, the user of the mobile computing device must be verified. This is commonly done with user authentication through a Windows Active Directory user name and password network logon.

Many wireless networks now require two-factor authentication which uses an additional security device at the mobile computing end. This may be a token key, smart card, or biometric device that generates unique identity keys to allow an individual user to gain access to the network. Radio IP MTG can communicate with a RADIUS server to confirm the password, providing secure, two-factor authentication.

With many secure databases, a static IP address is required for queries and responses, further identifying the mobile computing device requesting information. Public networks generate dynamic IP addresses, restricting your wireless users from accessing these types of databases. Radio IP MTG applies a static IP address to each mobile computing device, allowing full connectivity to secure databases that require this type of authentication.

  2. Data Encryption
Data encryption by Radio IP MTG is done on the entire payload using a variety of encryption methodologies, algorithms and standards. These include FIPS 140-1 and FIPS 140-2, 3 DES, DES and AES 256 bit encryption, ensuring that your data encryption has the highest level of security possible on your wireless network.

  3. Data Encapsulation
Data encapsulation occurs within the patented Radio IP Optimized TCP/IP tunnel. Where standard VPN solutions have been designed for the wired world, our Optimized TCP/IP protocol is made for wireless networks. In order to breech the tunnel and read the encapsulated data, an outside source would need a thorough understanding of this highly guarded and unpublished protocol. This makes Radio IP MTG Mobile VPN a very secure method of data encapsulation.

  4. Data Verification
Once the data from the field is received at the server, Radio IP MTG Mobile VPN ensures that it is validated, de-encapsulated, and decrypted, completing the secure data transmission process.

The One-of-a Kind Radio IP MTG Secure Solution

For slower networks that benefit from data compression, Radio IP MTG Mobile VPN has a unique advantage. Radio IP MTG has a mathematical compression engine that uses a historical data library for compression. The data can only be read when the exact history generated by this engine is received with it. No other method can read the data, making Radio IP MTG uniquely secure.
