Radio IP Software Releases Version 2.5 of Flagship Radio IP MTG™ Solution Print E-mail
Adcom 911 deploys Radio IP MTG for its enhanced Mobile VPN security and fast network throughput performance

IWCE Conference, Las Vegas, NV, March 18, 2009 - Radio IP Software, Inc., leader in mission-critical mobile data connectivity solutions today announced the release of Version 2.5 of Radio IP MTG™, its flagship Mobile VPN software solution. The software is ideally suited for organizations whose mobile workforces depend on mission critical data, such as in the public safety and utility sectors.

Radio IP MTG v 2.5 assists IT managers to assure the integrity of the data being transmitted, to protect the mobile users and to secure the back-office LAN. Utilizing a FIPS 140-2 validated encryption module, Radio IP MTG provides AES (up to 256-bit) encryption which meets and exceeds FBI/CJIS mandates. Advanced authentication is offered on top of standard username-password authentication. Digital certificates are used to validate the authenticity of the devices being used to access the network. Optionally, Radio IP MTG can also be configured to use smart-cards, electronic token devices or biometrics to validate user identity. Another optional security feature available to Radio IP MTG v 2.5 users is Access Defender™, a security gate that eliminates the vulnerability associated with using public IP networks and protects against LAN attacks such as "buffer overrun" or "denial of access".

Radio IP MTG v 2.5 provides the broadest network accessibility and overall best network throughput available today in the Mobile VPN segment. The software operates on and optimizes public wireless networks (cellular, WiFi, WiMAX), PMR networks that are both IP or non-IP based and satellite networks.

Serving approximately 375,000 citizens of northeast metropolitan Denver, Adcom 911 (Adams County Communications Center) supplies 911 and emergency radio communication services to fifteen police and fire emergency service agencies across Adams County, Colorado. The mobile officers belonging to these agencies utilize Radio IP MTG to securely roam across their GE MDS (PMR IP) and HSDPA (cellular) wireless networks and transmit data with absolutely no compromise on network performance.

Commenting on the selection of Radio IP MTG, Scott Newman, IT Director at Adcom 911, said "We were looking for an affordable solution that meets the FIPS/CJIS security policy 4.5. Should the Mobile VPN ever be down, the whole system is down due to the encryption requirements we are mandated to follow. Thankfully, Radio IP Software's customer service and highly qualified technical support is available 24/7, which should be a requirement for anyone dealing with public safety."

"We are pleased to welcome Adcom 911 as one of our new customers after the extensive due diligence they have undertaken. The work we are doing with Adcom 911 is characteristic of the "mission critical" business that we are in, partnering with industry-leading PMRs and application vendors such as CAD specifically focused on public safety, utilities or transportation and allowing mobile workforces to reach the highest level of performance, security and accessibility," said Mike Bourre, V.P. Sales at Radio IP Software.

Mike Bourre will be presenting an educational session on behalf of Radio IP Software at the IWCE conference on Mobile VPN topics. More details can be had at the following link:
